Using TearLab for diagnosis and treatment efficacy

I just saw a 53 yr old female patient today that had been in for consultation 6 weeks ago with Dry Eye Disease Symptoms.  I evaluated her and with the TearLab Osmolarity System and found readings of OD 337 and OS 341 mOsmols/L (moderate DED levels).  She had no lid disease and her treatment was initiated with Restasis BID and Blink Tears QID.
Today she returned with Osmolarity readings or 298 & 305 respectively.  Her symptoms have been relieved and she is ecstatic.   I am glad to be using this new objective technology to assist in not only diagnosing but evaluating patients’ therapeutic response in the area of Dry Eye Disease.
